“Hatman! Hatman’s coming! I know him!!

Christmas (or Holiday’s) is coming!
You may have noticed…

It’s that time of year when we over indulge (in everything!),when we overspend, when we buy and receive pointless pieces of tat and dodgy gifts (fondue set anyone?),and fashion sense goes out of the window (you’ve all got that awful Xmas sweater!)…

not for the Hatman!!

Peace out and Happy holidays!

Mr individual?

20121125-203243.jpg

So I’m sporting the ‘mo’ for movember as you will see by my profile pic.
I must admit that as November nears an end I’m getting a bit resistant to shave the little fella off!
I’ve grown attached to it!…quite literally!!

…the good lady isn’t a fan though!

I’m looking a bit Charles Bronson!!

Tom Hardy as ‘Charlie’ from the film ‘Bronson’

Ok so Mr Bronson isn’t the greatest role model or fashion icon, but he’s got a fantastic ‘mo’!

From a style/fashion point of view I’ve really up’d the ante in trying to dress a bit smarter and also celebrate with a bit of ‘British’ styling!
You don’t need to have a lot of money to look the ‘British gent’ either,I’ve been doing a lot of shopping lately (too much according to the wife!)and I’ve found some really cool pieces at a fraction of the price you’d pay for for the same pieces in the top stores!

    look 1.

the tonic blazer

20121125-215127.jpg
Tiger of Sweden £425 available at selfridges

20121125-220018.jpg

River Island £70

Love the Tonic blazer look especially for Christmas or evening wear,Tiger of Sweden’s jacket is absolutely gorgeous, the colour is a luxurious emerald green, and it exudes classic tailoring finishing with beautiful detailing throughout.
River Island’s version is a lot more pocket friendly,it is a lovely cobalt blue colour and fits superbly well!
For a high street jacket the fit is amazing, and the finishing is pretty impressive.

the velvet tux

20121125-220857.jpg
Joseph Blazer £425

20121125-222801.jpg
Topman velvet tux £100

I haven’t had the pleasure of trying on the luxury version in Joseph’s velvet tux (I didn’t have the balls to ask the assistant in Selfridges to unlock it so I could try it on!)
I have seen it in the flesh, and it is a sumptuous piece of cloth!
Topman’s velvet blazer, for the price is superb, especially in red,the only down side is that size availability in stores are poor, which would suggest that every man and his dog will be wearing it!

Spartacus was looking top dog in topman!

Tweed gent

20121125-224056.jpg
Harris tweed jacket by Hackett £500

20121125-224911.jpg
the Fosberry tweed jacket by Jack Wills £298

Tweed is the fabric that every geezer should have in his wardrobe!
Hackett of London are synonymous with the finest quality men’s tailoring on Savile Row.
The Hackett Savile Row cut is awesome, you really know you are wearing one of their jackets,it actually feels like it belongs to you,a second skin almost!
The Fosberry by Jack Wills, whilst not that much cheaper is also an exceptional piece of tailoring, with a partnership with the legendary Fox bros. fabric makers since the late 1700’s they’re on to a winner with this beautiful blazer.
Both pieces are investment pieces, they will never be out of fashion, and if you look after them they will last years and years!

So, I dress quite differently to the average man on the street,I’m currently rocking a bowler hat (my newest addition to my vast hat collection!)
I still get double takes and abuse because of the way I dress, but I really don’t care!
I’m more of an individual as I don’t follow the crowd,I do however look at lots of different media for my inspiration,so am I such an individual,or I just another style sheep?
Answers on a postcard to the usual address!
